Chew Resistant Dog Beds

If you are going to spend a lot of money on a dog bed you should get a chew resistant one if you know your dog is chewer.  Most dogs are not so you don’t have to worry about this.  But if you know your dog will tear the bed apart, look for a tough one.

One way to find a chew resistant dog bed is to feel the fabric and look at the seams.  Does the bed feel like it is well constructed?  Try to pull on the bed with your hands and see if it retains its shape.

Another thing to look for is that it should have a removable and replaceable cover.  If your dog is a chewer than even if the bed is chew resistant it would be nice to be able to have to option of giving your bed a clean look.

There are not too many beds out there that are chew resistant and even the ones that are chew resistant actually do not last that long.

One chew resistant bed that I found is actually a cot made of mesh.  I think because it has a rugged plastic frame it will last the longest of them all.
