The Ideal Dog Bed
What is your ideal dog bed? If you haven’t shopped for a high quality dog bed lately you would be surprised at the quality out there. But while there is no ideal dog bed for every dog, here are some things that an ideal dog bed would be made out of and the qualities it should have.
First of all, the ideal dog bed would be thick enough to never bottom out, no matter how heavy the dog is. Many heavier dogs can bottom out even the thickest dog beds, so that they are essentially lying on the floor.
Second, the ideal dog bed should be made out of high quality materials, like orthopedic foam, memory foam, and have double stitched seams. The cover should be removable for easy washing and replaceable.
Third, the dog bed should heat and cool the dog making it an all season dog bed essentially. There are very few dog beds that meet those criteria. A few dog beds come with two inserts, a heating one for cooler weather, and a cooling insert for hot weather.
Fourth, the ideal dog bed should last for years and maintain its shape. Most cheap dog beds quickly lose their shape and have to be replaced often; essentially costing you more money than if you would have just bought a high quality one in the first place.
