Therapeutic Dog Beds

If you are shopping for therapeutic dog beds or just looking for some information you came to the right place.  I have owned dozens of dog beds over the years and have by now realized what constitutes a good dog bed and a bad dog bed.If you are looking for a therapeutic dog bed you are in luck.  these types of dog beds did not exist until just few years ago.  That means if you had a sick dog or an arthritic dog, all you could find are those lumpy old dog beds.

Some people think spending a lot of money a dog bed is a waste of time, and I would have to agree up to a point.  Spending money on buying a cheap dog bed does not make sense if you have to buy a new one every year.

Spending more money on a therapeutic dog bed is a better investment for the long term, because not only will they last much longer, they keep their shape, and most come with a washable cover.

Higher quality dog beds these days are often made of the same high quality material human beds are made of.  High quality  memory foam and orthopedic foam.  If you have a heavier dog you want to get at least 3 inches think of memory or orthopedic foam or else your dog will “bottom out” the bed.

If this happens your dog is just laying on the floor, make the whole point of buying a bed mute.

When you do go buy a dog bed, I recommend buying a replacement cover right away so you don’t have to try and find one that fits later on.

I made this mistake once, and could not for the life of me find a replacement cover for this nice dog bed I had.  I knew the made them but could not find one, so ended up sewing one myself.  So make sure you get a replacement cover when buying a therapeutic dog bed.
